The usage of grinding aids prevents particle pelleting and leads to reduced energy consumption. The work aims to research the impacts of three pure grinding aids from different chemical classes on the dry grinding of calcite by the change in grinding time in a vertical stirred media mill.
WhatsApp: +86 18221755073The results show that the chemical additive promotes the fine grinding of calcite and that the maximum volumetric surface area of calcite obtained with additives 0.2%.
WhatsApp: +86 18221755073The use of 0.2% weight of grinding aid in the mill indicated enough beneficial effect on product size distribution and volumetric surface area. The observed beneficial effect is due to the adsorption of grinding aid on fine calcite particles by influencing the mass transport.

Tested grinding aids had affected the flowability and overlapped with grinding performance results. The positive effects of grinding aids on color properties were demonstrated.
